I was looking at all my make up yesterday, trying to sort out the giant wicker basket that is my make up box, and I started to try and figure out which brand is my favourite. Then I started to think about my blog and wanted to do a top 10 list again, but this time about make up. This list involves my top 10 favourite make up brands. This is only for the time being, because like I said, tastes change, and some of these brands may not have even made the list 3 months ago. I might do another one in December 2014, see how my tastes have changed in a year.
Anyway, let's get on with it!
10: Avon
I have never tried Avon's other products, which is why it is so far down on the list.
9: Clinique
At the moment I am using the bottom lash mascaras and they are awesome for skimpy lashes like mine. I am starting to get away from my 'I cannot put make up on my lower eye' terror. These are really good at picking up those tiny and in my case invisible lashes.
Clinique was the first premium brand I purchased, and I still love it to this day.
8: Estee Lauder
I can't decide how I feel about their foundations. They have a wide range of colours but I do find that the foundation dries my skin if I wear it for a few weeks. It's a great foundation for nights out as it does stay put.
Like a lot of brands this one has got so high because of my love for their lip and eye products.
Oh and it's not in the picture but I love using the Idealist in their skincare range. It smells really nice!
7: Loreal
6: Lancome
I'm currently using a concealer that is very moisturising and wakes my eyes p better than any eye cream I own.
Again I love the range of colours that suit all eye colours and skin tones. Everyone is always helpful on the Lancome counter too which is always awesome if you're not too sure what products will suit your skin or need a colour match up.
5: No7
Great premium-ish foundation that will last, and small enough to fit in your make up bag.
4: Maybellene
You've all read how I rant about the Colour Tattoo shadows so I'll shut up about them.
I find that the lipsticks are lovely and blend well onto the lips. They can be a little drying so I usually wear a lip balm or gloss over the top to enhance the colour.
The final product I want to rave about is the gel eye liners. I didn't trust eyeliner for a looong time. The Loreal liquid liner was the first one, and next was the gel liner from Maybellene. It is so easy to control and doesn't run, drying immediately. It's great on days when you want a crisp line.
3: Body Shop
The BB cream was amazing when I went to Turkey, great coverage without making my face look wet.
If you want products that are easy on the pocket and great for the skin always go for the Body Shop. If you're never sure what skincare to get, just ask. I had to, there are loads! It gets overwhelming if you're not too sure what your skin type is.
2: Bare Minerals
The update on me using this brand is that my skin looks less red and I have fewer blemishes.
The warmth colour makes an amazing contour colour as well as a subtle blusher is used sparingly. First time I tried, I went orange!
Although the whole range is a powdery format, this is anything but drying to the skin. It is very moisturising for the skin and to quote the adverts, you can wear it to bed and it won't hurt your skin. It just feels so healthy and natural to my skin. I love it.
Like a lot of premium brands, most products are in the early £20s but they are worth the price.
1: Benefit
Now I'm back home where my family are I still use the brand as I always find the beauty therapists so helpful and always willing to give you a make-over.
The products have brilliant names and designs. I bought a lipstick from Benefit just just because it looked awesome and shiny.
If you buy just one thing from this brand though, get the Porefessional primer. It is so silky smooth and I don't find that my skin suffers from it. I have not broke out in spots on any days that this was on my skin.
My affair with Benefit will not be ending any day soon!
Hope you enjoyed this list.
Byeeee!
