First of all I'm just going to come out and say, how did women in the 1920s apply their make up? I'm going as a Gatsby girl to my cousin's fancy dress birthday party on Saturday and need to perfect this dark sultry make up. Me + sultry = one big mess on the bed! Make up wise! That sounded so wrong and I'm sorry if you're now cringing at my poor choice of phrases.
Down to this week's blog. I've seen loads of beauty bloggers and YouTubers doing this tag and it looked quite fun, even if it makes you cringe at how much make up you have actually collated over the months. I'm not even going to go there!
Anyway, here are my 7 extremely deadly for my bank account sins of beauty things.
I just bought this the other day and I still can't understand what possessed me to spend so much on an eyeshadow pallet. £37! wtf??? I justified it by saying that there are 12 shades in there; £3.08 per shade. Pretty cheap really.
I mean I did spend £45 on the starter kit for Bare minerals, but individually those items don't cost as much as this pallet.
I absolutely adore how eye liners look when applied properly. So many people make this look flawless, but for so long I was terrified of this stuff, so I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to pencil liners. I enjoy using gel liners more, but you can (apparently) smoke out pencil ones so it looks less defined. I do love how my eyes look when I apply this, but it's a learning process so I get rather frustrated with it on days it doesn't work.
These Benefit Ultra Plush Lipglosses are amazing! They do look wet on the lips but they are not sticky (even my ex didn't mind these) and they smell gorgeous. I think they smell like old fashioned sweets, so if you like Beamish Museum's sweet shop, you'll love these.
Just getting over how bizarre that reference was!
This one has to belong to my make up brushes. Just look how dirty they are. They really need a good clean, and I know beauty gurus will scream at me, but I just can't be bothered to regularly clean them. They probably get cleaned every other month, if not longer!
But when I do clean them guys, they're done properly! Not one bit of make up is left on them.
Ever since I started wearing this foundation kit I get so many compliments. My friend April actually said my face looked warmer and it looked natural, which is always what you want in a foundation. Well it's what I want anyway.
Can I just have Gerard Butler please? I love the bit of stubble and messy hair.
And a guy that makes me laugh and doesn't take himself too seriously is always great.
Mmm lovely!
Ooo this one is tricky! I enjoy receiving gifts. Although I would love a gel nails kit as a gift. They are jut so expensive but it can cost so much to get nice gel nails done. At the moment it does cost £25 to have this done if I want to treat myself (Naked 2 pallet not bought in the same month). So a kit would save money in the long run. Maybe I'll get one for my birthday. You never know.
Bye for now!
