I have got to be so careful with what I put on my face because it is just so sensitive and will dry out horribly if my skin disagrees with something. It doesn't stop me trying out new things though!
And of course this has led to this post. I was going to do this as a youtube video but I have this awful cold and sore throat so don't think you guys would appreciate me running for the kleenex every ten seconds.
All of these products I have tried out over a few weeks, or even months. All I have regretted buying; mainly for the reason I stated above, but some have their own reasons for being on this list.
NOTE: I know people do use these and love the products I'm listing (why else would the companies continue to make them), this is just my personal opinion.
I have used Estee Lauder Foundations in the past and found them okay. They do give good coverage and stay put all day.
Unfortunately for me, because this is a heavier duty foundation (even if it's a lighter range from the brand) it was really drying on my skin and by the end of the day looked cakey. The colour range does not have that many shades so if your skin changes slightly you may need to mix this with another shade. I used to mix it with a maybellene liquid foundation AND a hemp moisturiser to combat the issues I had with it, but it just didn't work. It's great for a night out where you only need to wear for a few hours, but I wouldn't recommend for long day wear if you have a similar skin type to myself.
I bought this because I heard it was a dupe for the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, which I absolutely love!
Although it is an easy to apply cream shadow, it is really creamy so its hard to control. Unlike the Colour Tattoos these are not long lasting and will wear out in a few hours. I used to find that I would get the dreaded line of cream shadow in a part of my eye I didn't want it because it continued to stay wet and would stamp itself all over the lid when you opened your eyes fully. Not a great look!
My mam does have more luck with it, but she still prefers other products to this.
I used these a lot when I was a teenager. The applicator is quite difficult to use and not great to use if you want to apply all over the lid so it takes ages to blend onto the lid. I suppose it's meant to stop too much product falling out at once, but it prevents you using it too!
It is okay to use as an outer lid shade because you can tap it onto the lid or as a liner if you're really accurate (which I'm not).
This I bought because it is Sainsbury's cheaper version of Soap and Glory Kickass Concealer. I honestly wish I had spent the extra £5! This concealer is so greasy and hard to apply. It actually feels like I'm applying butter to my face.
I guess this would be okay if you had very dry skin just because it would help your face get some moisture. I have combination skin so it does make me look greasy. Sorry Sainsburys!
I was sold this as a cleanser. Do not use it as a cleanser! Like the Dirty Works concealer this is very greasy, and although it gets the make up off your face, your skin feels a bit tight and oily afterwards. I do use it occasionally as a leg moisturiser.
It does smell lovely, but Body Shop do have more useable body butters in their range. I am currently using a honey one which is a lot softer to apply.
Yes it gives texture to your hair.
Yes it boosts your hair.
Yes it's dry.
I don't like it. Even if it gives my hair texture my hair gets greasy very quickly on days I've used this. I don't know what it is about it; I just don't get on with it. It has a high pressure spray, so maybe my hair hears this loud his and panic sweats!
This is a nice concealer coverage wise. I love using it under my eyes, and sometimes on my cheeks. Unfortunately I found out that this was was was causing a large patch of dry skin on my eyes and cheeks, which I was really annoyed about. I loved this concealer. It's on this list just because I can't use it anymore and it was expensive.
Yes this was on my everyday use list. Yes, I have bought them multiple times. Body Shop have changed the formula for this from a cream make up remover to the watery formula. A few people hae mentioned that they have had the same reaction t the change as myself, even though it is meant to be the exact same product. The water version is a lot harsher and if used every day will really dry out my eyelids.
Please, please, please Body Shop, bring back the cream formula. It worked, and was the only one I used that could completely remove waterproof mascara.
I love the chubby stick lipsticks Clinique brought out, and I honestly thought I would love these. I regretted them the instant I used them. Although they do give a lovely natural shade, they are so difficult to apply. Even though the lids are clicked shut so no air can get to them, the stick is very hard and takes a lot of movement to get some colour on the lid. It feels like I'm letting a 3 year old put on my make up. It just does not give me a lot of control.
I really struggle with this. It does feel like I am drawing on my face with a felt tip (big surprise) and the line it produces is not flawless. I prefer my gel liners if I want a more flawless finish. My sister may be claiming this next time I see her.
