As a woman (the last time I checked) I have a giant handbag full of crap. Yes, crap. This often needs to be hauled out and sorted; many random bits of rubbish which have collated often making the lingering journey to the bin. I once had a fork in my bag- a clean one- for ages! Don't know why it was there. Maybe I was keeping it to be a comb like in the Little Mermaid. Hey who doesn't want to see a girl tidy her hair with eating utensils?
Anyway, to save people doing the regular (and in my case more than regular) chore I thought I'd do a Handbag essentials list. Everybody is different, and let's face it our bags are a lot bigger this time of year so more stuff does accumulate in the world that is the female handbag.
- Hand cream: I actually forgot mine today. Oops! This time of year your hands do dry out really quickly so it's always handy to have a hand cream in your bag. I use an Almond and Orange Body Shop one. It smells delicious and it's very moisturising. Also it's not sticky. Love it!
- Purse: For the spontaneous naughty 'early christmas present.' We all do it girls- admit it!
- Umbrella: We live in England. The weather is pure evil on hair at the worst of times. Rain is not always welcome in this country and an umbrella could save that hair do it took you ages to do for that coffee date.
- Tissues: I go through a nation of these! Always remember to empty the used ones when you get home though. Bins are usually not around to dump them. Ick!
- Emergency make up bag: Mine usually consists of a concealer, lipstick, tinted moisturiser and mascara. I have started carrying these around if I need a top up or I'm meeting someone. It's always handy having extra make up in your bag if the weather turns and smudges your make-up or even if you were in a hurry and need to apply it on the bus (or in the toilet).
- Unmentionables. Yea, I'm not putting it on here, but you know what I mean!
- Mobile phone.
- Diary: probably redundant for loads of people but I like to have important stuff written somewhere else in the catastrophe that would be losing my phone. I have a filofax and it is an ideal size for my bag.
- Kindle/ book: If I am going out on my own I always have my kindle in my bag for when I pop into starbucks to have a cuppa. Always handy so you have an ecuse to hang around and chill for half an hour.
Anyway hope this helps you declutter those handbags. Good luck!
Bye for now,
xxxxx
