It's still way too early to do my April favourites, so I thought I would do a my all time favourite beauty products (and some not beauty related products) blog. Some of these may come as a surprise, or if you have been following me since the beginning of this blog on twitter, you may notice that this may be heavily Bare Minerals based!
Everyday Foundation: Bare Minerals Ready SPF20 Foundation
Nightwear Foundation: Lancome Photogenic Foundation
Mascara: Benefit's They're Real and Bare Minerals Flawless Definition
The Bare Mineral's mascara I use on days with neutral eyeshadow. It gives a pretty length to my lashes without making them look enormous, and great for a no makeup makeup look. Also lasts all day.
Which one should I have chosen out of the two? What are your opinions on these two mascaras?
Primer: Benefit Porefessional
Women's Magazine: Cosmopolitan
This is such a fun magazine that is full of the latest makeup reviews (a great drugstore vs high end beauty side article is in there every month), relationship advise, humour; it just has something in there for everyone. It's a monthly must-read.
Moisturiser: Body Shop Hemp Skin Protector
I have mentioned this a few times, so I will try to not rant about this.
The reason I love this so much is that it is the less greasy version of E45 eczema cream. I hate the waxy finish to E45; it's impossible to put make up on top.
For the girl with dry skin or eczema, and you love your makeup, this needs to be in your skincare routine!
Cleanser/Toner: Body Shop Aloe Vera collection
TV Series: Scrubs
It is a shame the show got cancelled but it had a good run and I have the DVDs, so the show goes on!
Skin Treat: Estee Lauder Idealist
I don't use it every day, which is probably why my skin tone doesn't feel evened out but come on, it's £45 for the smallest bottle. It's an occasional treat for my skin and feels very lightweight.
Bag: Next Black Shoulder Bag
Yes it's seen better days; the zip is starting to die and it's scuffed to bits but I will continue to use it until I can no longer close the bag or a hole begins to form in the leather.
I'm way too sentimental aren't I? I just hate throwing stuff away!
Concealer: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Magazine (Non-women's): Total Film
The one thing I miss, which they did years ago was the movie picture quiz, where they had cryptic images of about 50 movies and you had to guess what movie was pictured. They were always entertaining and I used to wonder how you were supposed to get that film from that clue! Alas, they no longer do this. It was my favourite part of the magizine as a teenager. Boo!
Bt I still love you Total Film!
Blush: Any Benefit Blusher
I have Hervanna and Rockateur and love them. They are gorgeous and you can build up the colour so easily. I have used Rockateur as an eyeshadow at times, just because it is very shimmery.
I have had these for so long and will begin using again soon in the summer. Hervanna has a similar finish to MAC Dame, but I find Hervanna much more subtle and easier not to bugger up, just because it isn't as pigmented. I'm the first to admit I'm not confident with blusher, so the easier to apply (meaning less pigment) the better.
Lipstick: Clinique Baby Baby Lipstick
As you can see this one is nearly finished, so as soon as I have used up a few more lipsticks in the bag I will go out an buy a new one.
Shoes: Next 'Puss in Boots' Boots
Like the bag, I have had these ages. They're beginning to scuff, but I will not throw these out, again, unless a hole forms in the sole that can't be repaired.
Movie: Lord of the Rings
Peter Jackson did such an amazing job bringing my favourite book to the screen. He gave it some cheeky humour and it was really emotional at times.
I love this movie, and I'm sorry to say, the extended DVDs have the best Commentaries and special features. I am such a nerd and watched all of these multiple times. Think this was actually the way I found out Ian McKellen was gay too. He says so in the actor's commentary. Can't remember the context though.
Lipgloss: Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Collection
Singular Eyeshadow: Body Shop Colour Crush
Eyeshadow Palette: Urban Decay Naked 2
This is a beautiful palette that can be used to create subtle day-to-day looks, or glam smoky eyes. I used part of this to create my 20s eyes, which I will post below; it was on twitter ages ago. These shadows lasted all night which is a bonus.
Nail Polish: Sinful Colours
Clothes Shop: Matalan
Makeup Brand: Do I really need to say it? You all know what I'm going to say!
This is one brand that I can't fault; I have adored every product that I have ever bought from them. It has sensitve skin in mind and gives great flawless coverage on my skin. Eyeshadows are easily blended, and have some very interesting palette combos. Still can't get over how orange, blue, green and pearl blend so well together in the Elements quad!
What are your all time favourite things? Let me know in the comments.
